Do I need school supplies other than what is sent from K12?
Making the switch to online education after leaving a traditional brick-and-mortar school or homeschooling can come with a lot of changes. One of the biggest differences are school supplies. Textbooks and other grade-level-specific course materials will be sent to you, but there are some additional classroom necessities you will need to have on hand. View this article to find out what you may need.

What equipment do I need?
Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA) requires all families to have a minimum of one computer and printer that meet the minimum specifications necessary to access the OLS. Families must also have internet access in order to participate in the school. Internet access is verified during the enrollment process and throughout the school year. Our enrollment specialists can help address your technological questions and needs. Minimum technical specifications are listed on this K12 support topic.

How do I know my computer is K12 ready?
To use K12's program, you'll need a computer with an internet connection and free software programs, which you can download from the internet. View instructions on what you may need to install.

Will my student receive a computer from GCA?
In certain cases (based on financial need), GCA may loan a computer to an enrolling family. The income guidelines used to make this determination are the same ones set forth by the federal government for determining eligibility in the National School Lunch Program for free or reduced-price lunches. Details on income eligibility guidelines are available on the USDA website. Please contact your Strong Start Specialist if you believe you may qualify for this program.

When will my student receive materials?
For students with approved enrollment, materials usually start shipping 2–4 weeks before school begins. For students who receive approval 3 weeks or less before school starts, or after school starts, expect materials within 7–10 business days. To track shipments, visit myinfo.k12.com and log in with your Learning Coach account. View instructions for checking the status of materials shipment.

My student shows missing Attendance days before school has even started.
If your account is showing missed days, don't worry. You student's attendance will be reset on the first day of school. After your student's first day of school, please begin logging attendance daily. View Learning Coach Prep Academy Video 5: Attendance for more information. If you have further concerns regarding attendance, please contact your Strong Start Specialist.
