In anticipation of the possibility that you may experience inclement weather conditions which may cause an internet service failure, a loss of power, or a need to evacuate for safety, please follow the steps below:
- Print out or write down your assigned Family Success Liaison's (FSL) name and phone number. If your electronic devices fail, then you will have the number on hand.
- If your student is unable to attend live class connect sessions due to internet failure, power outage, or the need to evacuate for safety, please contact your FSL to report the situation at your earliest opportunity. We completely understand that you may be unable to contact us immediately. Remember that your and your family’s safety comes first.
- Keep track of your student’s off-line work hours, so that you can record their attendance once you are able to access GCA’s system. Attendance may include workbooks, reading, writing assignments/practice, academic reinforcement games, educational field trips, time spent on academic projects, educational programs, etc.
Weather conditions, power outages, and internet provider connection failures throughout the state are being monitored by GCA.
Students will not be held responsible for the live class connect sessions that they miss due to circumstances beyond their control.
