GCA Approved Programs for Academic Credit
Georgia Virtual School is a program of the Georgia Department of Education's Office of Technology Services. The program is SACS CASI accredited and operates in partnership with schools and parents to offer middle school and high school level courses across the state. Tuition/Course Fees: Tuition is $250 for half Carnegie unit and $500 for full Carnegie unit. In order to enroll in course(s) from the GVS program, you must have approval from your counselor.
The Keystone School is an online school that serves a wide range of students who need flexibility—whether your student is homeschooled, pursuing a career in sports or entertainment, traveling the world, or simply wants to take courses on his or her own schedule. K12 International Academy offers a variety of online courses specifically designed for the summer months—including high school options designed to help students recover credits or earn new ones. Though most are full versions of K12 regular courses, they're paced to be completed over a shorter, more intensive period of time. National High School is a 100-percent online school that provides courses for credit recovery/credit transfer and NCAA classes. Certified teachers are provided for each online class. There is 24/7 access to the online classroom and live online lectures weekly. It generally takes eight weeks to complete a course for 1 credit or four weeks to complete a .5 credit course. BYU Independent Study is an online education program that offers three different types of high school courses—paper/online, online, and instructor-guided online (taught by certified instructors). Students can enroll at any time. Registration: Call 800.914.8931 or go online.
