Aspiring Medical Professions Club (AMPC)

AMPC is for students who are interested in medical professions. Once a member, students remain a member throughout their professional years. Our goals are to:

  1. Strengthen student pre-medical thinking skills while engaging the whole family.
  2. Introduce students to a variety of medical and allied health careers while assisting each to matriculate into a career.
  3. Strengthen the necessary student confidence and efficacy that promotes sustainment through medical school or other professional programs.

Book Club

Do you enjoy reading? The Book Club may be for you! This student-led club brings together students of all high school grade levels to share thoughts about novels we choose as a group. Compassionate Students Club

This club helps students connect through empathy. Empathy is often developed through acts of kindness, so the Compassionate Students Club generates ideas and provides opportunities for students to give back to the local community and inspire their peers to do the same. The club meets once a week for 30 minutes to discuss ideas and try to understand life from different perspectives in order to grow.

Fashion Club

Fashion Club is sponsored by the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, known to most as FIDM. French Honor Society

The French Honor Society (Société Honoraire de Français) is designed for students who have achieved high levels of academic success as well as a deep understanding of the French language and culture. Students must have completed a full semester in high school and be enrolled in or have completed their fourth semester of French in order to apply for membership.

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) Club

HIIT can be most readily defined as, "physical exercise that is characterized by brief, intermittent bursts of vigorous activity, interspersed by periods of rest or low-intensity exercise." During our club meetings, we will be sharing workouts with each other, while teaching proper form and safety techniques. The HIIT Club is for fitter athletes who would like a high intensity routine to aid in their current training; however, all fitness levels are welcome.

This is a club for military kids of active duty service members and those interested in a military career where they can share the experiences and trials of PCS, TDY, and deployment. National History Day Club

National History Day (NHD) is a yearlong, historical research project that competes during the spring semester in district, state, and national competitions. 
 
Students engage in historical research and develop critical-thinking, research, reading, and problem-solving skills as well as build their self-esteem and confidence.
 
Students who advance to the national competition are afforded the opportunity to earn scholarships.

This club is open to all students who wish to enter their NHD class assignment into the competition level as well as to students who desire an academic challenge.

National Honor Society

Membership in the National Honor Society (NHS) is by invitation only. Members are invited based on their grade point average (GPA) from the previous school year. Invitations go out in September. To be invited to join NHS, you must be a junior or senior, have completed one semester at GCA, and have a GPA of 3.75 or higher. GCA's NHS chapter sponsors an annual virtual talent show open to all GCA students and virtual peer tutoring open to middle school and high school students.

Spanish Honor Society

To be eligible for membership in the Spanish Honor Society (SHH), students must meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of at least three semesters of Spanish
  • Current enrollment in Spanish at GCA
  • Completion of one full semester in the program at GCA before being eligible (transfer students)
  • 3.0 or higher overall GPA
  • Cumulative Spanish GPA of 3.5 or higher from all previous courses

If you have something to say, we have the platform! Or, if you just like to write and need an outlet, this is your place! The Weekly Juice is a joint effort by GCA and its Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO). As a student-led online newspaper, our editors and leaders are from the high school, and we encourage submissions from all grade levels.

Visual Arts Club

This year's Visual Arts Club will consist of some fun projects as well as portfolio building. We'll offer several project options to be completed together during our meetings as well as some to be completed between meetings. You won't be required to purchase any materials and can choose projects based on what you have at home or have access to online. We enjoy sharing ideas, and discussing and creating art together. We'll also plan a couple of fun art outings to enjoy this year!
