What grades are offered by Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA)?
GCA offers grades K–12.
What subjects will my child study?
Language arts, math, science, and history are the core courses with world languages, art, health, and PE in grades K–8. Full academic programs for grades 9–12 are also offered by GCA. Visit our online curriculum page for more information.
Does the program provide physical textbooks and other materials?
With very few exceptions, the curriculums are 100% online with no materials needed with the exception of basic school supplies. A school computer and printer may be provided for student use.
What does it cost to attend GCA?
GCA is a public school, so there is no tuition. We provide a Georgia-certified teacher and online instructional materials. A computer and internet access are required to complete the online courses. GCA may loan a computer system (including computer, printer, and software) to support the learning process. Common household items and office supplies like printer ink and paper are not provided.
Do you provide curriculum for special needs children?
Depending on a child's Individualized Education Program (IEP), we can tailor our curriculum to meet your needs. Visit our Special Education section for more information.
Because students do not go to a physical school building every day, how do they interact socially?
Throughout the year, students are invited to participate in school outings, field trips (e.g., to historical sites, museums, zoos), picnics, and other social events. Local clusters of students and parents can get together on a regular basis in their areas. Students also attend virtual class connect sessions where they can interact with each other and their teachers.
Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA) elementary school teachers host student clubs each semester, allowing multiple opportunities for students to interact and pursue areas of interest.
